IG Group supports Multibank, a UK-based initiative that tackles poverty and reduces waste by collecting surplus household essentials like bedding, baby products, and hygiene items from businesses. These goods are redistributed through a network of local charities, ensuring they reach families in need.
In Tees Valley, our local Multibank, The Junction, operated by The Junction Foundation, aims to redistribute 750,000 products to 75,000 families in its first year. This is crucial in a region where nearly half of children live in poverty—twice the national average. With 50,000 children facing financial hardship, the impact on their education and well-being is significant, with many children arriving at school hungry and lacking basic necessities.

The Junction Multibank works with community organisations across the region, redistributing surplus goods—including bedding, toiletries, and hygiene products—donated by businesses to families in need. By connecting these excess resources with those who need them most, The Junction Multibank is making a real difference in the community.
Through IG Group’s partnership with Multibank, we’re are helping to combat poverty, reduce waste, and create a more sustainable way of supporting families in crisis.
We donate a wide range of essential household items to support families facing financial hardship. Our contributions include:
- Cleaning products: Crucial for maintaining hygiene and a safe living environment.
- Tableware and glassware: Ensuring families have the necessary items to prepare and enjoy meals together.
- Paper hygiene products: Including toilet rolls, blue roll, and kitchen roll, which help maintain cleanliness and dignity in households.
In addition to our direct donations, we actively engage our key supply partners, encouraging regular contributions. By fostering these partnerships, we help ensure a steady flow of essential goods, providing ongoing support for those in need. This collaborative approach strengthens our impact, enabling us to reach more families and provide them with the resources required for a healthier and more dignified life.
