Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about floor cleaning pads, including pad colours, sizes, scrubbing, polishing and choosing suitable pads for commercial floor maintenance.
What are floor cleaning pads used for?
Floor cleaning pads are used with compatible floor cleaning and polishing machines to maintain commercial flooring. Different pads are designed for tasks such as routine cleaning, scrubbing, buffing, polishing and floor finish removal. The correct pad depends on the floor surface, machine and cleaning requirements.
What do the different floor pad colours mean?
Floor pad colours commonly indicate different cleaning applications and levels of abrasion. White pads are often used for polishing, while red pads are commonly used for buffing and light cleaning. Blue and green pads may be used for more intensive cleaning or scrubbing, while black pads are often associated with stripping tasks. However, colour classifications can vary between manufacturers, so always check the individual product specifications.
What size floor pad do I need?
The correct floor pad size depends on your cleaning machine. Common sizes include 10-inch, 14-inch, 15-inch, 17-inch and 20-inch pads. Check your machine’s pad diameter and manufacturer guidance before purchasing. Our range includes different sizes for professional floor maintenance equipment.
What is a melamine floor cleaning pad?
A melamine floor pad uses a specialist cleaning material that can help remove marks and dirt from suitable surfaces. Melamine pads may be used for specific floor maintenance tasks where the manufacturer recommends them. Always confirm compatibility with the floor surface and cleaning machine before use.
